We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere where both children and adults can feel comfortable and cared for. Let’s explore the different types of braces we offer to help you achieve the perfect smile.

Straighten Your Teeth with Customized Orthodontic Treatment

The journey to a straighter smile begins with understanding the options available to you. With Dr. Alhussain’s extensive training and commitment to patient care, you can choose the type of braces that suit you best. During an initial consultation, Dr. Al will discuss your preferences, assess your dental condition, and recommend the ideal orthodontic treatment to achieve outstanding results.

Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are a time-tested solution for orthodontic treatment. This popular option has helped countless individuals achieve beautifully aligned teeth. Metal brackets are securely bonded to the front of the teeth, connected by wires which are held in place by colorful elastic bands. These braces are not only effective in correcting misaligned teeth but also allow for personalized expression through various band colors, making them a perfect choice for teens and older children in Vienna.

Self-Ligating Braces and Damon Braces

For those seeking a more comfortable and efficient orthodontic experience, self-ligating braces, specifically Damon Braces, represent an innovative advancement in orthodontic care. Unlike traditional braces, Damon braces utilize a unique system that does not require elastic bands for wire fastening. Instead, the wire clips directly into the bracket, reducing friction and allowing teeth to shift more comfortably and quickly.

The benefits of opting for Damon braces include:

  • Significantly less friction, leading to a more comfortable experience with reduced pain compared to traditional methods.
  • Shorter treatment times, usually decreasing the overall duration of orthodontic care by approximately four to six months.
  • An emphasis on maintaining more of your natural teeth—fewer extractions may be necessary to create space.
  • The ability to achieve a wider, more beautiful smile without needing expanders, thanks to the effective design of these braces.
  • Fewer visits required for adjustments, allowing for a more convenient scheduling experience.
  • An absence of elastic ties, which typically retain plaque, making it easier to maintain dental hygiene throughout the treatment.

Lingual Braces

Our lingual braces offer a discreet orthodontic option for those wanting an effective treatment without the visibility of traditional braces. Bonded to the back of your teeth, these braces are virtually invisible, making them an ideal choice for adults and teens who are concerned about their appearance during treatment. At Tysons West, we proudly utilize Incognito™ lingual braces, which are customized to ensure optimal comfort and fit, allowing you to pursue your orthodontic goals without feeling self-conscious.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces combine effectiveness and aesthetics, providing a less noticeable alternative to traditional metal braces. Using transparent brackets and tooth-colored wires, ceramic braces blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. This makes them a popular choice for teenagers and adults in Vienna looking for a subtle approach to their orthodontic treatment. Ceramic braces offer the same level of effectiveness while ensuring that your smile remains in focus, not your braces.

Straighten Your Teeth with Braces

Traditional Metal Braces

These braces have been around for decades. Metal brackets are first bonded to the teeth. Wires then connect the brackets and are secured to the brackets with elastic bands.

Self-Ligating Braces / Damon Self-Ligating Braces

“Ligating” refers to the process of fastening wire to the brackets used in braces. Self-ligating braces don’t require elastic bands because the wire clips into the bracket, so it “self-ligates.”

Why we offer Damon Braces:

  • Less friction causing the teeth to move quickly and comfortably with much less pain than traditional braces reducing treatment time by approximately four to six months
  • Less need to extract teeth to create space
  • Wider smile can be obtained with Damon braces without using expanders
  • Fewer adjustments required therefore fewer visits
  • No elastic ties around the bracket, which collect plaque, accumulate bacteria, and often discolor the braces. This makes dental cleanliness much easier.

Lingual Braces

These braces are bonded to the back of the teeth so they don’t show. Dr. Al uses a brand of lingual braces called Incognito™.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces are much less obvious than metal braces because the brackets are transparent and the wires are tooth-colored.
